Halve the slightly unripe avocado, remove the pit, and then peel outside layer away carefully. Rub the avocado with olive oil and season with black pepper, and then fire up the grill.
Once the grill is warm, spray it with non-stick cooking spray and grill the avocado for 2 - 3 minutes on each side (starting with pit side down) until it is soft and with grill marks. Serve the avocado sliced up on whole wheat toast with sea salt flakes, or however you'd like.
